Thanksgiving weekend.

I am so thankful for such a great family, good friends, a nice home, a job I love, and on and on. . .

r

We stayed home for the holiday which turned out to be great. We had Andy, April and kids over for lunch, naps, and a movie night. The kids enjoyed a quad ride as a reward for eating their food. :) Good thinking Bracken.
On Friday, the girls and I headed to Detroit to watch some football. The school I teach at won their first state title (41-20) and the school I used to teach at here in Michigan also won another state title (40-0). It was my first time in downtown Detroit and the kids did a great job at the football game. Plus, we still had Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday to relax.
Tonight the girls had another slumber party in the basement. Jordan is getting so big that she wants to join in too. I let her watch Cinderella for about 1/2 hour before I moved her back up to the crib. She loves being a big girl and has added the word baby to her vocab. She does not consider herself the baby at all!

Bracken's 9 point

Bracken is excited about his latest kill. Morgan and Taylor both viewed this deer hanging in the garage while Bracken was skinning it. When we got inside, Morgan said, "I can't wait to eat dad's deer! But, he has to take all the blood out first." I thought--gross, but kept it to myself. :)

'Scuse you dad!

This video was one I was going to delete because I started out in the wrong orientation and not much happened. However, the kids got such a kick out of listening to it that I thought I'd post it. You can hear my husband's good manners in the background--well really it's Morgan who has the manners. :)

Straight hair.

e

These are for Emily. Yes, I can straighten my hair. No, it doesn't look good. :) Seriously, this took me about an hour and my hair is still not really straight. Also, now you can really tell I need a haircut!

Taylor's party

We didn't get all of the kids in the picture, but here are about 2/3 of them. :)

This was Taylor on the day of her actual birthday--ready to go to school.

Taylor's bithday party was this afternoon. Bracken also cooked dinner afterwards and had a couple of families from work over. You can see that by the end we were all pretty tired. Jordan didn't take a nap, so fell asleep eating dinner. Bracken was exhausted by the end as well.

Fall time and swinging.

The girls were swinging in their Sunday dresses and thought they should make it more interesting. So, they hauled the leaf pile over by the swings. :)

Manual Labor.

The kids were nice enough to take my picture while I was stacking fire wood. Bracken built a little trailer for the quad so I could drive the wood from the big pile to where I need to stack it under the deck. I hope it's not too surprising that I actually do some physical labor around the house!
