Princess Party

Taylor and Morgan attended a Princess Party at a local inn. We had heard about it through another teacher that I teach with, but we didn't know that we were supposed to request to be in the same group. So, although we drove together, Maddie was in a different group than the girls. We did get one group shot at the end. It was a 2 hour deal, starting (for our group) with "tea time" which consisted of a little lunch and lemonade. We had Princess Stephanie as our leader (who is the mother of a boy in Morgan's preschool class) who read us a princess story while we were eating and drinking. Then we had a little princess parade before the dance time. After the kids danced, then it was on to the beauty salon for hair, nails and make up. Taylor and Morgan wore their flower girl dresses. Other kids wore costumes or nice dresses of their own. Some of the moms were dressed up, some of the kids were with their grandmothers (how fun!), and even a couple were with their dads. There was one boy in our group who was a prince. In the salon he got his hair spiked in colors and had a treasure chest to decorate. Overall, it was a great experience that we hope to do again. Morgan said her favorite part was the ballet and Taylor really liked "the little tea cups and all of it".

Lewis Farm Visit

The girls asked to go to Lewis Farm since it was such a nice day out. They knew the big pumpkin would be up and they could jump inside.
Since it was a Monday, they got to jump by themselves.
They had a blast.
Next we all fed some of the animals.
Taylor feeding the alpaca.
Jordan fed baby goats for the first time.
I had to hold her hand or else she would just throw the food at them (it works for our dog!).
At first she was shaking like a leaf, but by the second time she was laughing and trying to pet them. She also called them "dog"--close enough.
The new bunny area--notice the restaurant behind the girls (ihopp) and the hare hotel in the background.
The bunnies loved the attention.

Girls at Work

Some of you know that Bracken has been changing our deck into a 3 season room. Here are some pictures of the progress and the kids helping Bracken move some old shingles. We like to start them working young (slave labor--whatever!).

Jordan in the tub.

Here is a video of Jordan in the bathtub. I also took one of her walking, but I haven't figured out how to rotate it yet. :)

Here are Taylor's back to school photos. :) She has gone for almost 2 weeks so far and really likes it (surprise, surprise).

Morgan starts preschool

Here is Morgan on her first day. She was tired in the morning so we took them after school was out so her hair isn't as pristine as it was to begin with. She had a great day as the "shining star" of our family.

It's getting close to fall.

School has started for both Taylor and I. Taylor is in kindergarten this year--just afternoons. Morgan starts preschool tomorrow, so I'll get some pictures of both girls in school gear up soon. Bracken sold our camper and bought a quad. The kids have just started to get rides on that. The pictures I had of Taylor and Morgan riding turned out too dark, but I did include one of Alyssa and Madison (friends from church) getting a ride. Jordan is walking more now, but she still prefers to crawl. The girls still love to pose for photos and also improve their skills with the camera.
