Morgan's Party

Morgan had her birthday party on Saturday. It turned out nice despite predictions of rain so the kids were able to play outside together before heading in to open presents and eat cake. I tried making a mini tiered cake which turned out okay except that the candle was so big it would hardly stay in place. :) Overall, the kids had a good time and that's what counts. We had four babies under 1 at the party. Sela, at 6 weeks, was the youngest and Jordan, at 11 months, was the oldest. Funny how those things happen in spurts.
To end the day we went out to Andy's grandma's cabin. Andy took the kids on a boat ride and then they got to play some video games.

Family

Abe graduated from Iowa State over Mother's Day weekend. Pa sent me these pictures and I'm just reposting them. Abe's girlfriend is Sarah--they are pretty serious. Bek's fiance Mike is also in one of the pictures--only 2 weeks until the wedding.

One of my youngest cousins (though the oldest of 4 in her family) is a freshman and went to prom. She is so beautiful! Just thought I'd share these family pictures for those who are interested.

Preschool is out for summer.

Taylor and Morgan are officially on summer vacation. I still have 2 weeks and then exams (really 3 weeks) left but it is going very quickly. On Thursday night the girls had a closing ceremony at the church. They sang a bunch of songs and then had an ice cream social. Jordan discovered my wallet in the diaper bag and found that more interesting than most of the rest of the night. Taylor's friend Marek came around for pictures with his classmates. Both girls have grown so much this year. I was originally reluctant to start Morgan in preschool already but she really enjoyed it.

Friday (after Taylor had her last official day of preschool) we went to Lewis Farms with Miss Stephanie and Liberty right before dinner. We love to visit and were excited to see what was new this year. They have a whole "bunny town" for the rabbits rather than just the big cage from last year and Morgan was super excited as that is one of her favorite parts of the farm. Taylor and Morgan took turns pulling each other around in the wagon (Morgan struggled up the hill a little). I'm sure we'll be visiting many more times before the summer is over.

Morgan turns 4.

I can't believe that Morgan is 4 years old already. She was thrilled about getting to pick out her own outfit and then dinner (surprise, surprise it was macaroni again--Taylor said, "Oh bummers."). It was a beautiful day and was still in the 70s when I picked up the girls from the sitters, so we went back out to some orchards for some more pictures. Morgan and Taylor especially loved when it was time for them to "pose". That really means look as crazy as you can.
After all of the posing, Taylor and Morgan each have to have a turn behind the camera. They are getting better. :)

Mother's Day

What a nice day! The weather wasn't the greatest, but we got a few pictures taken in some local orchards anyway.
